Language and literature strongly enrich the process of civilizational growth and cultural flourishment. We can discover this eternal fact in the history of mankind. Britain, French, Russian, Chinese, Spanish Languages are growing rapidly with the able support of respective establishments. Respecting the mother tongue became a glorious phenomenon in these globalization eras. We, the Telugu people are striving for a specific place in the contemporary regional linguistic dais. In recent past, Telugu was identified as classical language by the Government of India.
In our Andhra Pradesh at high school level Telugu teaching is an essential part in the curriculum. At intermediate level it became a second language and at degree level also same status is continuing. Various universities established Telugu Departments in our state in the past. But of recently, only our Telangana University initiated Telugu Studies Department. Contemporary field of higher education is rapidly changing. So, the study of literature and language must also take part in the changing process.
